Prof. Hind Fallatah is a distinguished Saudi expert in adult gastroenterology and hepatology,
with a clinical and
research focus on autoimmune liver disease. As one of the pioneering female physicians in Saudi
Arabia, she was among
the first female gastroenterologists and the first female professor in her field. She earned her
medical degree from
King Abdulaziz University (KAU) and completed postgraduate training in internal medicine and
gastroenterology/hepatology, becoming a consultant in 2003. Prof. Fallatah is an active member
of SASLT and AASLD.
She has held significant leadership roles at KAU, including deputy head of the Department of
Medicine and head of the
gastroenterology endoscopy unit. Prof. Fallatah also holds an honorary master's degree in
medical education and has
accreditation in academic standards from SCHS and FAIMER. An editorial board member of the World
Journal of
Gastroenterology, she regularly reviews articles for national and international journals. Her
contributions to education
and research have earned her numerous awards, including a research excellence award from KAU’s
Faculty of Medicine.
