Liver diseases are a major health focus in our region, with conditions such as chronic viral hepatitis remaining a significant concern, alongside a rising prevalence of Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) and other Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). Our mission is to advance understanding, treatment, and research of these conditions and support healthcare professionals in their efforts to improve patient outcomes.
Since the 1980s, Saudi Arabia has achieved numerous milestones in hepatology research and clinical care, thanks to dedicated contributions from the medical community. SASLT is committed to building upon this foundation through collaboration, scientific exchange, and educational initiatives. The Saudi Society for Liver Diseases and Transplantation (SASLT) was formally established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the approval of the Council of Trustees of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, referenced as decision No. 29/1/7, dated 10/02/1429 H. Based in Riyadh, SASLT has the capacity to expand by establishing branches in other regions within the Kingdom as needed.
